Ben Terra, EY Netherlands: Romania Needs To Speed Up VAT Refunds And Have Clearer Legislation To Attract Investors

The taxation system is one of the essential factors analyzed when companies decide to do business and invest in a country and if the VAT is 24% and investors pay 24% more because of this tax, then VAT refunds should be processed quickly, said Ben Terra, partner contractor EY Netherlands. He believes reliability of authorities and clarity of legislation are topics where still major enhancements can be made in Romania, but this is a problem in general in a lot of countries.
