PSD To Announce Candidate For Bucharest Mayor Early March

PSD leaders stated they will announce the candidates for Bucharest mayor and district mayors early March but the situation is not clear yet as they expect a new opinion poll ordered by the leadership of the party.

After PNL announced the change of the candidate for Bucharest mayor, proposing Ludovic Orban, PSD leaders said that the change is advantageous for the party, but in the latest session of the National Permanent Bureau, PSD leaders decided to order a new opinion poll that would show the chances of PSD candidate Gabriela Firea against Ludovic Orban.

Valeriu Zgonea, Statements On Bucharest’s Future Mayor

PSD executive president, Valeriu Zgonea, stated on Sunday that the future mayor of capital Bucharest needs ”six winning district mayors”, but a mayor who goes on TV without mentioning ”the other magnificent six”, has got a problem.

”A municipality mayor needs six winning district mayors. They are a team. A municipality mayor without competent candidates to win positions of district mayors has got a problem. The one who candidates by himself and goes on TV without mentioning the magnificent six who stand by him, has got a problem,” Valeriu Zgonea stated.  (Adevarul)

 

Romania’s Crude Oil And Natural Gas Reserves, Enough For Twenty More Years

Romania’s crude oil and natural gas reserves are enough for utmost twenty more years.

While Romania’s current natural gas reserves will be over in 15 - 20 years, taking into account the current production, consumption and the replacement rate of 80%, the country’s crude oil reserves will be over in approximately 20 years, given the average annual production registered in the past years (3.9 million tons), according to the chapters “Current stage analysis”, and “Romania’s International Commitments in energy sector”, part of the country’s Energy Strategy, posted on the Economy Ministry website.

Last year, authorities estimated that the energy sector would require investments worth EUR100 billion by 2035.

Romania’s Energy Strategy available for 2016-2030, with the perspective of 2050, will be completed in September, but its chapters will be launched for public debate one by one, as they are drafted. (Puterea)

 

Nearly 250 People Protested For Adopting Law On Debt Discharge

Nearly 250 people with mortgage loans protested on Sunday in front of Government’s headquarters for a quicker adopting of the law on debt discharge, according to which the debtor can resort to the payment of the mortgage loan with the mortgaged property.

The protesters are discontent with the sluggish manner of discussing the law on giving in payment.

The action was organized by the Group of Clients with CHF Loans and was authorized to last for two hours. The law on debt discharge should have been voted this week but it was postponed.

Central bank governor Mugur Isarescu said last week that law on debt discharge was presented as a social law, a law of justice or an economic law, triggering the confusion of the society, which should no longer be maintained. (Adevarul)

 

Stores To Replace Products In 15 Days

Ordinance 9/2016, according to which stores will have to replace or repair the purchased products in a shorter period, of 15 days, at the customer’s request, came into force.

Although the obligation is only available for online stores, most of the large stores networks are applying it as well, both food retailers and durable goods retailers. They usually ask for the replacement request to come in less than 30 days from purchasing.

Moreover, stores like Ikea or Kaufland are refunding the buyer if he changes his mind and if the product can be resold. (Evenimentul Zilei)
