Presidential Chancellery Head Believes CVM Report Will Be Favorable For Romania -

Dan Mihalache, the head of the Presidential Chancellery, stated that he believes the report on the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (CVM) that will be published at the end of January will be favorable for Romania. Before publishing the CVM report, institutions get a draft.

At the same time, the Bulgarian deputy PM stated that Romania will get a better evaluation than Bulgaria in the report as regards Justice and European Affairs.

European Commission will present the reports on the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (CVM) for Bulgaria and Romania on January 27. Asked about the relevance of the CVM report in the context of the difficult situation of Schengen area, Mihalache said that such a topic will be discussed this year.  (Adevarul)

 

PM Dacian Ciolos Continues Working Visits To Ministries

Romanian Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos continued the working visits to ministries with the Development Ministry, where, jointly with deputy PM Vasile Dancu, he had talks related to three important issues with the main employees of the ministry.

The talks included EU funds management and the PM said that the quality and the impact of the investments are as important as the level of absorption. The cadastre issue was a source of discontentment for the PM, who said that less of 20% of the territory is currently registered due to the lack of involvement from the local authorities.

The two officials also announced an upcoming reform of the public administration. (Puterea)

 

Energy Regulator ANRE Fines CEZ Vanzare For Billing Electric Power In Advance

Electric power supplier CEZ Vanzare got a fine worth RON500,000 from Romanian energy regulator ANRE for billing electric power in advance.

According to the results of the checkup, started in 2015 by ANRE, CEZ Vanzare issued bills in advance for electric power consumption between 2014 – 2015, failing to comply with the Regulations of electricity supply to end consumers drawn up by the energy regulator.

CEZ Vanzare is one of the companies resulted from the reorganization of former Electrica Oltenia, after being acquired by CEZ in 2005. In March 2007, CEZ Vanzare S.A. got the license to supply electric power to household and industrial consumers. (Adevarul)

 

French Carmaker Renault To Recall 15,800 Vehicles

French carmakerRenault will recall 15,800 vehicles to fix pollution-control systems and offer voluntary emissions- system updates, after tests showed emission levels from some of its vehicles were too high.

Last week, investigators raided three of Renault sites as part of a probe into its emissions technology. After the checkup, Renault stated that probes found no evidence of any so-called defeat device software, such as the kind that Volkswagen installed to cheat on emissions tests. (Puterea)

 

Children In Underprivileged Families To Get RON50 Ticket Monthly

Each child in underprivileged families, whose monthly income per family member does not exceed RON284, will get a ticket worth RON50 every month as of February. The tickets will be given only to children attending kindergarten.

The social tickets will be granted based on the Law to stimulate children to attend pre-school education - "Every Child in Kindergarten"- and will only be used to buy food products, cleaning and personal hygiene products, clothing or school writing materials, and will be conditioned by attending kindergarten regularly.(Puterea)
