Top Traded Companies on Bucharest Stock Exchange Last Week

In the week June 25-29, 2018, 357.79 million shares were traded on the Bucharest Stock Exchange in11,217 deals and the market value of listed companies reached RON166.97 billion.

The value of equity transactions on the main market grew 31% this past week compared with the previous week, to RON157.53 million, while deals on the alternative trading system halved, according to stock exchange statistical data.

SIF 4 Muntenia  was among the top traded companies, with RON30.36 million, followed by Banca Transilvania with RON20.26 million, and OMV-Petrom with RON18.63 million.

 

Justice Min Still Hopes President Will Dismiss Chief Anticorruption Prosecutor

Justice minister Tudorel Toader said Sunday evening he still hopes President Iohannis will abide by the Constitutional Court ruling and will dismiss chief anticorruption prosecutor Laura Codruta Kovesi.

“Any Constitutional Court decision produces legal effects once it is published in the Official Journal. I'm still hoping, I still think the president will abide by the decision,” said Toader on TV station Antena 3.

Asked what would happen should Iohannis refuse to abide by the decision, Toader said the stakes of not observing a Constitutional Court decision are much higher than the conflict between the justice minister and the president.

 

Romania Under Water: Dozens of Households Flooded, at Least Three People Dead

Heavy rains and flooding affected traffic on five national roads and 13 county roads, traffic was halted on two railway sections in central Romania, and dozens of households were flooded.

Five localities in northern and eastern Romania were left without electricity.

Authorities say at least three people died and hundreds were rescued or evacuated from areas hit by flash floods.
