Energy Holding CE Hunedoara Exits Insolvency

State-run energy holding Complexul Energetic Hunedoara exited insolvency just four months after it started the reorganization procedures.

Following the decision of Alba Iulia Court of Appeals, the state-owned company will be able to operate properly as it has a management although it will no longer have a special and legal administrator.

CE Hunedoara Board of Directors decided late December 2015 to file for voluntary insolvency of the company, as a form of protection as creditors were asking for the foreclosure of the company.

Hunedoara Court nominated GMC SPRL Craiova as legal administrator. CE Hunedoara holds approximately 5% of Romania’s electricity production and employs 6,257 people.

The company was set up in 2012, through the merger of state-owned thermal power producers Deva and Paroseni, and produces electricity using coal. (Adevarul)

New Crisis Of Hexavalent Vaccine In Romania

The hexavalent vaccine, which protects babies from six diseases which can be fatal, is currently inexistent in doctor's offices.

Two big pharmaceutical companies produce the vaccine worldwide: Sanofi Pasteur and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). Sanofi is the current distributor of the vaccine in Romania while GSK had a contract with the Romanian state until the end of 2013. Both companies faced distribution issues over the years.

The hexavalent vaccine protects children against six priority diseases: poliomyelitis, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), invasive infections caused by Haemophilus influenza type b, hepatitis B. By combining six vaccines into one, the vaccine reduces the number of injections, improving comfort and vaccination compliance for infants. (Evenimentul Zilei)
