The partition of Ukraine, economic sanctions by western powers and the retaliatory action of Russia would have serious economic costs not only for the two countries but for the European Union and, to a lesser extent, for the wider global economy, Euler Hermes writes in this week's export risk outlook.

The report notes, however, that all the parties have fundamental interest in de-escalation and a peaceful compromise solution.
