BNR Has Doubts Over Proposed Cap On Credit, Debit Card Fees

The Romanian central bank is doubting that capping interchange fees for card payments will translate into lower shelf prices of consumer goods, considering the population’s increased appetite for cash transactions and a still weak purchasing power, a bank official said Wednesday.
