The Romanian unit of RBS, which became a branch of UK’s The Royal Bank of Scotland, Edinburgh, last September, returned among profitable banks in 2013 thanks to its 9.1 million lei (EUR2 million) net income after dropping below the break-even point in 2012 due to the implementation of a restructuring and retail business sale preparation program.
