Man Robs Bank In Bucharest, Holds Cashiers At Gunpoint

An unidentified man wearing a ski mask robbed a bank in Romania’s capital city Thursday morning, holding the cashiers at gunpoint.

An unidentified man wearing a ski mask robbed a bank in Romania's capital city Thursday morning, holding the cashiers at gunpoint.

Police spokeswoman Diana Sarca said the robber was apparently holding an object resembling a gun, but it has not been established whether the gun was real or a toy.

The man threatened the bank's three cashiers, stole money and fled.

The robbed bank unit had undergone a security check two weeks ago and authorities had recommended increased security, as the bank only had security cameras but no guards.

No one was injured during the robbery.
