Mortgage Loans In Lei Twice As Expensive As Those In Czech Crowns Or Polish Zloty

Romanian banks charge up to 5% higher margins on loans in lei than Polish and Czech banks do on loans in their local currencies. Loans in lei are much more expensive even though interbank interest rates are identical in Bucharest and in Warsaw.
