Oprescu, Alpha Bank: Lack Of Predictability, Main Flaw Of The Banking System

The lack of predictability is the main flaw of the Romanian banking system, Sergiu Oprescu, Alpha Bank CEO and president of Romanian Banking Association (ARB), told ZF Bankers Summit’15.

“The system gathered important losses in the last years, and banks have to obtain profit and pay the shareholders. (…) The fact that the banks register losses is only discouraging the capital in this sector, and then we wonder how we can finance the economic growth without a profitable system,” Oprescu said. 

According to Oprescu, a coherent growth of the banking sector will definitely mirror economic prosperity.
