Romania Sells RON1.2B 5-Month T-Bills At 6.32% Average Yield

Romania’s Finance Ministry on Monday sold 1.21 billion lei (EUR1=RON4.0869) in five-month treasury bills, above the planned amount, at an average yield of 6.32% a year, central bank data showed.

Romania's Finance Ministry on Monday sold 1.21 billion lei (EUR1=RON4.0869) in five-month treasury bills, above the planned amount, at an average yield of 6.32% a year, central bank data showed.

It was the first five-month bills sale since the central bank began to keep tracking in 2005.

The ministry planned to raise RON1 billion at Monday's auction. Banks offered a total of RON2.79 billion, and the maximum accepted yield was 6.45% a year.

The ministry plans to sell debt worth RON4.5 billion in April, up from RON3.63 billion sold a month earlier.

So far this year, Romania sold roughly RON21.2 billion in state notes.
