Romania Sells RON109M 10-Year Bonds At 7.4% Average Yield

Romania’s Finance Ministry on Thursday sold 109.3 million lei (EUR26.7 million) worth of 10-year treasury bonds, below the planned amount, while the average yield remained stable at 7.4% on the year.

Romania's Finance Ministry on Thursday sold 109.3 million lei (EUR26.7 million) worth of 10-year treasury bonds, below the planned amount, while the average yield remained stable at 7.4% on the year.

The ministry planned to sell debt worth RON500 million at Thursday's auction. Banks offered a total of RON786.6 million, but the ministry rejected all yields above 7.43% a year, central bank data showed.

At the latest similar auction March 24, the ministry sold a little over RON412 million of 10-year paper.

In April, the ministry sold debt worth RON6.1 billion, well above RON3.6 billion sold in March.

So far this year, Romania sold RON21.3 billion in state notes. (EUR1=RON4.0906)
