Romania’s Finance Ministry on Monday raised a planned 300 million lei (EUR67 million) in a reopening of a seven-year bond due April 2020, while the average yield rose to 3.04%.

Banks offered to buy RON927.4 million worth of bonds at today’s auction but the treasury stuck to its issuance plan. The maximum accepted yield was 3.05%, central bank data showed.

At the previous similar tender in May, the ministry sold RON400 million of seven-year paper at an average yield of 2.75%.

The issue will be reopened tomorrow in a bid to raise RON45 million at a supplementary non-competitive sale.

So far this year, the ministry raised around RON18 billion at bond auctions on local market.
