UniCredit Tiriac Bank Moves To Bigger Building

06.15.2011 By Razvan Voican

UniCredit Tiriac Bank, controlled by Italy’s UniCredit Group, is set to move its central office into a new 15-floor building on Expozitiei Boulevard nearby the World Trade Center in the first quarter of next year, says Rasvan Radu, executive president of the bank.

"The investment is ongoing, works are on schedule, so I expect the move to occur at the end of the first quarter of 2012."

The building will have a three-level underground parking lot and the whole structure will be covered in glass. It was designed by Westfourth architecture firm, which has designed many office buildings erected in Bucharest in the past few years.

The builder is Bog'Art, controlled by businessman Radu Doicescu. He bought the land and will rent out the building to UniCredit bank, which funds the project.

The investment is estimated at EUR20-EUR30 million.

The bank is now headquartered in the Soseaua Nordului area, where the top management operates, but the IT department remained in Charles de Gaulle Plaza, while other departments operate in the offices of the former Banca Tiriac on Nerva Traian and on Maria Rosetti Street.
