Brick Maker Cemacon's Net Profit Jumps To RON5.1M In 1Q

Romanian brick maker Cemacon Zalau (CEON.RO) on Friday reported a net profit of 5.1 million lei (EUR1.2 million) in the first three months, significantly more than RON20,800 in the same interval of the previous year.

In the analyzed period, revenue more than tripled to RON17.8 million from RON5 million, while expenditure more than doubled to RON11.7 million, from RON5 million.

Sales rose to RON3.3 million, from RON2.7 million in January-March 2010.

The company has a share capital of RON24.4 million, divided into 244.3 million shares with a face value of RON0.1.

Shareholders include SSIF Broker Cluj (BRK.RO) with 11.1% and Eurorom Trade & Investment and SIF Muntenia (SIF4.RO) with 5% stakes each.

Cemacon shares closed up 0.11% Friday, to RON0.0931. (EUR1=RON4.106)
