Bucharest Bourse Ends Flat, BET-FI Rises 0.4%

The Bucharest stocks exchange closed almost unchanged Wednesday, with the investment funds gaining slightly in a quiet session.

The BET index was flat on the day at 5,824.75, while composite index BET-C was up a mere 3.34 points, or 0.11%, at 3,067.94.

BET-FI, which tracks the five regional investment funds (SIFs) and Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO), increased by 107.01 points, or 0.41%, to 26,151.28. Proprietatea closed up 0.5%, at 0.7095 lei (EUR0.16) per share, while SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1.RO) and SIF Moldova (SIF2.RO) rose 0.8% and 1.5% respectively.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was down 0.22%, while energy stocks tracker BET-NG fell 0.31%.

The traded value was very low, reaching just RON14.4 million (EUR3.2 million), with RON5.9 million coming from special deals. (EUR1=RON4.4751)
