Bucharest Bourse Falls Towards Closing On Proprietatea, Banca Transilvania Declines

The Bucharest bourse closed Wednesday slightly in the red, after a session-long stay in the green followed by decline in the endgame, mainly due to price corrections of Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) and Banca Transilvania (TLV.RO) stocks.

The Bucharest Stock Exchange's composite index BET-C fell 0.32% to 3,342.5, while the main index BET dropped 0.28% to 5,632.56.

BET-FI, the index tracking investment fund Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) and the five regional investment funds, or SIFs, closed down 0.37%, to 22,707.54.

The BET-XT index, tracking the top 25 blue-chips, fell 0.19% on the day, to 514.5, while the energy companies index, BET-NG, was the only one closing in the green, up 0.53% on the day to 790.85.

Trades unfolded Wednesday on the Bucharest Stock Exchange amounted to 22.23 million lei (EUR5.4 million), close to RON24.88 million in the previous session.

The Proprietatea fund was Wednesday's top-traded issuer. Its shares closed down 1.14% to RON0.519, on a traded value of RON6.15 million.

The shares of Bucharest bourse operator BVB (BVB.RO), today's second-top traded issuer, closed down 0.98% to RON40.4, on a traded value of RON3.12 million.

BRD-Groupe Societe Generale (BRD.RO) closed up 0.14% to RON14.52, while Banca Transilvania (TLV.RO) closed at RON1.232, down 1.04% on the day.

The shares of oil company OMV Petrom (SNP.RO) rose 0.27% on the day, to RON0.4081, while state-owned gas transporter Transgaz (TGN.RO) saw its stock rise 0.22% to RON255.5. (EUR1=RON4.1184)
