Bucharest Shares Back In Green Territory At Closing Bell

The Bucharest bourse closed up Friday, recovering the losses in the first part of the session by closing time, with investors mostly focusing of financial stocks.
The Bucharest Stock Exchange's composite index BET-C rose 0.39% on the day to 3,437.91, while the 10-share blue-chip tracker BET grew 0.38%, to 5,797.61.
BET-FI, the index tracking investment fund Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) and the five regional investment funds SIFs, climbed 0.73%, to 25,290.59.
The BET Extended index, or BET-XT, which tracks the top-25 most traded issuers, rose 0.3%, while BET-NG, tracking energy companies, closed at 800.82, up 0.23% on the day.
Trades unfolded Friday on the Bucharest Stock Exchange amounted to 23.75 million lei (EUR5.8 million), with RON1.22 million coming from trades with structured products.
The overall traded value seen Thursday reached RON24.28 million.SIF Moldova (SIF2.RO) was Friday's top-traded issuer, followed by SIF Oltenia (SIF5.RO). The traditional liquidity driver, the Proprietatea fund, ranked a mere third place among today's top-traded issuers.
SIF Moldova shares dove 5%, to RON1.33, on a traded value of RON3.2 million, while SIF Oltenia shares closed flat at RON1.515, on a traded value of RON2.9 million.
Proprietatea stock rose 2.57% on the day, to RON0.559.
Other popular issuers Friday included lenders Banca Transilvania (TLV.RO) - whose shares fell 0.26% to RON1.516, and BRD-Groupe Societe Generale (BRD.RO) - with its stock down 0.54%, at RON14.62, while oil company OMV Petrom (SNP.RO) saw its shares closing down 0.35% to RON0.4285. (EUR1=RON4.1208)
