Bucharest Stocks Close Up In Lackluster Trade

The Bucharest stock exchange ended higher Monday, after one of the most quiet sessions in recent weeks, as traded values reached a five-month low.
BET index rose 40.6 points, or 0.7%, to 5,841.16, while composite index BET-C was up 19.91 points, or 0.65%, to 3,067.7.
BET-FI, which tracks Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) and the five regional investment funds, or SIFs, closed at 25,656.65, up 304.62 points, or 1.2%. Proprietatea rose 1.25%, while the SIFs gained between 0.8% and 1.5%.
Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was up 0.65%, while energy stocks tracker BET-NG increased 0.58%.
The bourse’s traded value was the lowest since April 1, as share transfers reached just 6.4 million lei (EUR1.4 million), with Fondul Proprietatea covering more than half, mainly through two special deals worth a total RON2.7 million.
