Bucharest Stocks Close Up On Reduced Traded Values

The Bucharest stock exchange closed mildly higher Monday, but the traded values were low.

The BET index closed up 31.18 points, or 0.45%, at 6,946.58, while BETPlus was up 4.48 points, or 0.44%, at 1,029.59.

BET-FI, which tracks Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) and the five regional investment funds (SIFs), rose 0.21% to 30,350.1 points.

Proprietatea inched 0.1% lower, and SIF Muntenia (SIF4.RO) was down 1%, while SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1.RO) was up 1.5%.

BET-XT was up 0.46%, while Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK increased 0.56%.

Energy stocks tracker BET-NG closed up 0.74% as both Romgaz (SNG.

RO) and Electrica (EL.RO) rose 0.8%, while OMV Petrom (SNP.RO) closed 0.5% higher.

The bourse’s traded value reached 21.9 million lei (EUR4.9 million), with both Fondul Proprietatea and Romgaz amassing transaction totals of RON3.3 million, while the only other stocks that reached traded values of more than RON1 million were SIF Oltenia (SIF5.RO) and Electrica, each with RON1.4 million.
