Bucharest Stocks End Flat, Fondul Proprietatea Rises 1.5%

The Bucharest stock exchange closed almost unchanged Thursday, after staying for most of the session in the red.

BET closed at 7,568.18 points, or 0.04% higher than Wednesday, while BETPlus advanced 0.12% to 1,111.16.

Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) shares rose 1.5%, and Romgaz (SNG.RO) added 0.7%, but the bank stocks’ decline stopped the growth of the BET index. Banca Transilvania (TLV.RO) fell 1% and BRD-Groupe Societe Generale (BRD.RO) was down 0.4%.

OMV Petrom (SNP.RO) ended in red as well, with its shares down 0.5%.

BET-FI, the index tracking Fondul Proprietatea and the five regional investment funds SIFs, benefitted from Proprietatea’s increase and closed up 0.65%.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was up 0.43%, while energy stocks tracker inched 0.03% higher.

The bourse’s traded value was rather reduced, with share transfers reaching 17.2 million lei (EUR3.9 million).
