Bucharest Stocks End Flat In Apathetic Trade

The Bucharest stock market closed almost unchanged Friday, on reduced traded values, as most investors are preparing for the winter holidays.

The Bucharest bourse’s BET index closed up 4.81 points, or 0.08%, at 6,376.63, while composite index BET-C inched down 0.81 points, or 0.02%, to 3,302.02.

BET-FI, which tracks Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) and the five regional investment funds (SIFs), was down a mere 5.51 points, or 0.02%, to 30,690.01. Proprietatea was down 0.8%, but SIF Oltenia (SIF5.RO) rose 0.6%, while SIF Transilvania (SIF3.RO) closed 0.3% higher.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was up 0.29%, while BET-XT increased by 0.16%.

Energy stocks tracker inched 0.02% lower.

The traded values in Bucharest were reduced, with share transfers reaching just 18.3 million lei (EUR4.1 million), about half of Thursday’s total.

Proprietatea was the most traded issuer, followed by OMV Petrom (SNP.RO) and Romgaz (SNG.RO). Petrom closed down 0.4%, while Romgaz inched 0.1% lower. (EUR1=RON4.4754)
