Bucharest Stocks End Flat in Lackluster Trade

The Bucharest stock market closed almost flat Friday, after a lackluster session, as many investors were absent due to the Easter holidays.

The Bucharest bourse’s BET index closed down a mere 0.02%, while composite index BET-C inched 0.09% higher.

BET-FI, which tracks Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) and the five regional investment funds (SIFs), rose 0.5%, with SIF Muntenia (SIF4.RO) gaining 1.4%. SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1.RO), SIF Moldova (SIF2.RO) and SIF Oltenia (SiF5.RO) were all up 0.7%, while Proprietatea closed flat on the day.

As in the previous day, Proprietatea ensured almost three quarters of the bourse’s traded value of 12.6 million lei (EUR2.9 million).

The overall turnover was RON15.9 million (EUR3.7 million), helped by transactions with structured products worth RON3.3 million.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was up 0.33%, while BET-XT gained 0.19%. Energy stocks tracker BET-NG inched down 0.01%. (EUR1=RON4.3072)
