Bucharest Stocks End Flat, Traded Values Fade

The Bucharest stock market closed almost unchanged Tuesday, after a quiet session marked by reduced interest from investors.

BET closed virtually unchanged at 6,310.32 points, while composite index BET-C was down a mere 1.17 points, or 0.04%, to 3,276.67.

BET-FI, which tracks Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) and the five regional investment funds (SIFs), dropped by 59.02 points, or 0.19%, to 30,269.88. Proprietatea, the most traded issuer in Bucharest Tuesday, closed down 0.24% at 0.847 lei (EUR0.19) per share.

The bourse’s traded value fell to RON48.7 million (EUR10.9 million), from RON51.1 million Monday.

Trades with Proprietatea shares amounted to RON14.9 million, while OMV Petrom (SNP.RO) amassed a turnover of RON9.9 million, including a special deal worth RON3.6 million.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK inched 0.07% lower, while BET-XT, which tracks the 25 most traded stocks in Bucharest, closed down a mere 0.02%.

Energy sector index BET-NG fell 0.19%, as Petrom was down 0.22%, and Transgaz (TGN.RO) declined 0.38%. (EUR1=RON4.4643)
