Bucharest Stocks End Up, On Improved Traded Values

The Bucharest stock exchange returned in green territory Tuesday, after yesterday's minor losses, while the traded values received a boost from transfers with the shares of Erste Group Bank (EBS.RO) and Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO).

The Bucharest bourse's BET index rose by 41.52 points, or 0.64%, to 6,500.03, while composite index BET-C ended up 32.38 points, or 0.97%, at 3,373.77.

BET-FI, which tracks Fondul Proprietatea and the five regional investment funds (SIFs), increased 0.68% to 31,475.34 points, fueled by SIF Muntenia's (SIF4.RO) 1.8% advance.

Bank stocks also had positive evolutions, with Banca Transilvania (TLV.RO) rising 1.2%, and BRD-Groupe Societe Generale (BRD.RO) adding 1.5%.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was up 0.94%, while extended blue-chip index BET-XT closed 0.62% higher.

Energy sector index BET-NG rose 0.66%, as Rompetrol Rafinare (RRC.RO) grew by almost 15%.

The bourse's turnover reached 43.7 million lei (EUR9.7 million), fueled by trades with Erste stocks (RON6.9 million), Fondul Proprietatea (RON7.3 million, including a deal worth RON3.4 million), and a special deal with Banca Transilvania shares worth RON7.5 million. (EUR1=RON4.501)
