Bucharest Stocks Fall On Low Traded Values

The Bucharest bourse closed down Friday, with only three issuers ensuring more than two thirds of the market’s traded value.
BET index lost 23.91 points, or 0.41% to 5,865.72, with OMV Petrom (SNP.RO) and Banca Transilvania (TLV.RO) leading declines. Petrom closed down 1.1%, while Banca Transilvania lost 1.3%. On the other hand, Transgaz (TGN.RO) rose 1.1%, and Transelectrica (TEL.RO) added 1.3%.
Composite index BET-C was down 9.19 points, or 0.3%, to 3,081.01, while investment fund tracker BET-FI inched 0.09% lower to 26,424.58 points. Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) closed down 0.35%, but SIF Transilvania (SIF3.
RO) and SIF Moldova (SIF2.RO) were both up 0.5%.Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK ended down 0.15%, while BET-XT declined 0.28%. However, energy stocks tracker BET-NG inched up 0.03%.
The bourse’s traded value was significantly lower than Thursday, with share transfers reaching 12 million lei (EUR2.7 million), versus RON43.4 million in the previous session. Proprietatea (RON3.8 million), Petrom (RON3.1 million) and Transgaz (RON1.4 million) covered 70% of the total. (EUR1=RON4.4567)
