Bucharest Stocks Fall Slightly In Lackluster Trade

The Bucharest stock market was slightly down in early trade Tuesday, but the interest for trading was extremely reduced.

At around 10:30 local time (GMT0830), the bourse’s BET index was down a mere 0.06% from Monday closing level, while composite index BET-C was losing 0.05%.

BET-FI, which tracks the main investment funds, was up 0.22%, despite Fondul Proprietatea’s (FP.RO) 0.65% decline. However, SIF Moldova (SIF2.RO) was gaining 1.3%, while both SIF Transilvania (SIF3.RO) and SIF Muntenia (SIF4.RO) were up 0.9%.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was up 0.19%, while extended blue-chip index BET-XT was up 0.13%.

Energy sector index BET-NG was up a mere 0.04%.

The traded values were very low in early session, with share transfers barely reaching 0.4 million lei (EUR0.1 million) after 30 minutes of trading. (EUR1=RON4.4537)
