Bucharest Stocks Inch Higher In Early Trade, Proprietatea Gains 0.6%

The Bucharest-listed shares were slightly higher in early session Wednesday, with investors focusing almost exclusively on Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO).

At around 10:30 local time (GMT0730), the BET index was up 0.1% from Tuesday closing level, while composite index BET-C was gaining 0.21%.

BET-FI, which tracks Fondul Proprietatea and the five regional investment funds (SIFs), was up 0.23%, while BET-XT traded 0.09% higher. Proprietatea was 0.6% higher at 0.77 lei (EUR0.17) per share.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was up 0.22%, while energy stocks tracker was 0.19% higher.

The traded values were reduced, with share transfers reaching RON0.74 million (EUR0.16 million) after 30 minutes of trading.

However, transactions with structured products worth RON1.75 million lifted the overall traded value to RON2.48 million. (EUR1=RON4.456)
