Bucharest Stocks Mostly Higher In Early Trade; Volumes Stay Low

Bucharest shares were mostly higher Thursday morning, amid low volumes, with the BET-C composite index advancing 0.4% on the day.

At around GMT0810, Bucharest Stock Exchange's 10-share blue-chip index BET was up 0.47% at 5,807.95.

BET-FI, the index tracking Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) and the five regional investment funds SIFs, was losing 0.18% at 25,108.85.

The extended blue-chip index BET-XT was gaining 0.28%, while energy stocks tracker BET-NG was up 1.01%.

Overall trading value stood at 1.82 million lei (EUR0.4 million), half from yesterday's morning numbers.

Investment fund SIF Moldova (SIF2.

RO) was top-traded issuer Thursday morning, followed by Austria's Erste Group Bank AG (EBS.RO), natural gas transporter Transgaz (TGN.RO) and drugmaker Zentiva SA (SCD.RO). (EUR1=RON4.1127)
