Bucharest Stocks Open Down, Proprietatea Dominates Trades

The Bucharest stock exchange was down in early trade Wednesday, but few stocks gathered interest beside Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO).

At around 10:40 local time (GMT0840), the Bucharest bourse’s BET index was down 0.45%, while composite index BET-C was losing 0.31%.

Proprietatea traded down 1.1%, as its shares were involved in trades totaling 2.35 million lei (EUR0.5 million), or 85% of the total traded value of RON2.73 million.

Fondul Proprietatea also brought BET-FI down 0.27%, as the index other components--the five regional investment funds (SIFs)--were either unmoved or in green territory.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was down a mere 0.04%, extended blue-chip index BET-XT was losing 0.27%, while energy sector index BET-NG inched 0.01% lower.
