Bucharest Stocks Open Flat, Fondul Proprietatea Dominates Trades

The Bucharest-listed shares were nearly unchanged Monday morning, as investors focused almost exclusively on Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) stock, which touched a fresh all-time high at 0.775 lei (EUR0.17).

At around 10:40 local time (GMT0740), the Bucharest market’s BET index was down a mere 0.06%, while composite index BET-C inched 0.01% higher.

BET-FI, which tracks Fondul Proprietatea and the five regional investment funds (SIFs), was 0.1% down, while the extended blue-chip index, BET-XT, was 0.2% lower.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was down 0.34%, while energy stocks tracker BET-NG was losing 0.4%.

The bourse’s traded value was RON8.3 million (EUR1.9 million) at 10:40, with Proprietatea accounting for more than 90% of the amount.

the fund's shares traded up 1% at RON0.77 after 40 minutes of the session, after hitting earlier an all-time high at RON0.775.
