Bucharest Stocks Open Flat In Dull Trading

The Bucharest stocks were largely unmoved Monday morning, and the trading values were very low after the first 30 minutes of trading.

At around 10:30 local time (GMT0830), the Bucharest bourse’s BET index was down a mere 0.01% from Friday closing level, while composite index BET-C inched 0.1% higher.

Banca Transilvania (TLV.RO) was down 0.4%, while BRD-Groupe Societe Generale (BRD.RO) was 0.6% higher. Both OMV Petrom (SNP.RO) and Transelectrica (TEL.RO) inched up 0.1%.

BET-FI, which tracks the five regional investment funds (SIFs) and Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO), was up 0.4%. SIF Transilvania (SIF3.RO) was gaining 0.4% and and Proprietatea traded up 0.2%, but SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1.

RO) was losing 2%.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was down 0.03%, while extended blue-chip index BET-XT inched up 0.02%. Energy stocks tracker BET-NG was up a mere 0.01%.

Traded values were very low, reaching just 0.55 million lei (EUR0.12 million) at 10:30. (EUR1=RON4.4286)
