Bucharest Stocks Open Flat In Dull Trading

The Bucharest stocks were flat in early trade Monday, lacking a clear direction and volumes, as foreign markets are closed for the Catholic Easter holidays.

At around 10:30 local time (GMT0730), the Bucharest bourse’s BET index inched down 0.01%, while composite index BET-C traded up a mere 0.03%.

BET-FI, the index that tracks the five regional investment funds (SIFs) and Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO), was up 0.09%. Proprietatea and traded up 0.5%, but SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1.RO) and SIF Oltenia (SIF5.RO) were down 0.2% and 0.3%, respectively.

On the other hand, energy stocks tracker BET-NG was down 0.11%, with Transgaz (TGN.RO) falling 0.5%.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was down 0.01%, while BET-XT was losing 0.04%.

The traded values were very low, even compared with the lackluster sessions in recent weeks, reaching just 0.2 million lei (EUR0.05 million) after 30 minutes of trading. (EUR1=RON4.4154)
