Bucharest Stocks Open Flat, Traded Values Rise

The Bucharest-listed shares were almost unchanged in early session Friday, although Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) touched a new all-time high, while the traded value was significantly higher compared with the previous days.

At around 10:31 local time (GMT0731), the BET index was down a mere 0.05% from Thursday closing level, despite a 1% increase of Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO). Banca Transilvania (TLV.RO) traded down 0.7%, while OMV Petrom (SNP.RO) was losing 0.2%.

The bourse’s overall traded value reached 13.4 million lei (EUR3 million) after 31 minutes of trading. Share transfers amounted to RON8.5 million (RON1.9 million), which came almost exclusively from trades with Fondul Proprietatea stock. Proprietatea traded at RON0.7795 per share at 10:33, after previously touching a fresh all-time high at RON0.7805.

Allocation rights issued by Nuclearelectrica started trading Friday and they opened at RON11.52 per unit, up 2.8% from the public offering price. The rights attracted transfers worth RON4.1 million until 10:31.

Composite index BET-C inched 0.02 higher, while extended blue-chip index BET-XT was down 0.06%.

BET-FI, which tracks Fondul Proprietatea and the five regional investment funds (SIFs), was up 0.28%.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was 0.2% lower, while energy stocks tracker BET-NG traded up 0.1%.
