Bucharest Stocks Open Slightly Down, On Low Traded Values

The Bucharest stock market was slightly down in early session Friday, while the traded values were rather low.

At around 11:03 local time (GMT0903), the Bucharest bourse’s BET index was down 0.19% from Monday, the last trading day of 2013, while composite index BET-C was down 0.15%.

Among the most traded stocks, Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) inched 0.1% higher, but OMV Petrom (SNP.RO) and Romgaz (SNG.RO) were both losing 0.1%.

Investment fund tracker BET-FI was down 0.53%, while extended blue-chip index BET-XT was losing 0.3%.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was down 0.39%, while energy stocks tracker BET-NG was declining 0.2%.

After more than an hour of trading, the bourse’s turnover was just 1.4 million lei (EUR0.3 million). (EUR1=RON4.4847)
