Bucharest Stocks Stay Down In Thin Trade

Bucharest shares continued to retreat Wednesday morning, after three consecutive days of losses, amid low volumes.

At around GMT0820, the Bucharest Stock Exchange composite BET-C was down 0.37% from Tuesday's closing at 3,049.34, while the main index BET was shading 0.31% at 5,744.89.

BET-FI, the index tracking Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) and the five regional investment funds SIFs, dropped 1.15% at 24,740.01.

The extended blue-chip index BET-XT was down 0.62%, while energy stocks tracker BET-NG was losing 0.11%.

Overall trading value stood at 3.33 million lei (EUR0.8 million), similar to yesterday's morning numbers.

Fondul Proprietatea was top-traded issuer Wednesday morning, followed by four out of five SIFs and Transgaz Medias (TGN.RO). (EUR1=RON4.1073)
