Bucharest Stocks Stay In Green, In Dull Trading

The Bucharest stock exchange was little moved Wednesday morning, while trading values remained very low, as most eyes are directed towards the Romgaz public offering.

The state-run natural gas producer launched Tuesday an initial public offering, which aims to raise between 1.38 billion lei (EUR312 million) and RON1.85 billion.

At around 10:45 local time (GMT0745), the Bucharest bourse’s BET index was up a mere 0.03% from Tuesday closing level, while composite index BET-C was up 0.08%.

BET-FI, which tracks Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) and the five regional investment funds (SIFs), was up 0.28%, while extended blue-chip index BET-XT was gaining 0.12%.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was 0.14% higher, while energy stocks tracker BET-NG was up 0.21%.

The bourse’s traded value was reduced, with share transfers barely reaching RON0.45 million (EUR0.1 million). (EUR1=RON4.437)
