Bucharest Stocks Trade Slightly Up In Lackluster Session

The Bucharest stock market inched higher Friday morning, but the traded values were reduced.

At around 11:15 local time (GMT0915), the Bucharest bourse’s BET index was up 0.32% from Thursday closing level, while composite index BET-C was up 0.2%.

BET-FI, which tracks Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) and the five regional investment funds (SIFs), was up 0.29%. Proprietatea traded up 0.3%, while SIF Moldova (SIF2.RO) and SIF Muntenia (SIF4.RO) were both gaining 0.7%.

Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was up 0.29%, and extended blue-chip index BET-XT was rising 0.33%. Energy stocks tracker BET-NG inched 0.08% higher.

The bourse’s traded value was reduced after the first 75 minutes of the session, with share transfers reaching 2.2 million lei (EUR0.5 million). The most traded stock in early trade was Banca Transilvania (TLV.RO), which was gaining 0.6%. (EUR1=RON4.4806)
