Bucharest Stocks Up Slightly, Interest Remains Low

The Bucharest stock exchange inched higher Tuesday morning, but the interest for trading remained reduced.

At around 11:01 local time (GMT0901), the Bucharest market’s BET index was up 0.17% from Monday closing level, while general index BET-C was up 0.15%.

Investment fund tracker BET-FI was up 0.19%, while Bucharest benchmark index BET-BK was gaining 0.31%.

BET-XT, which tracks the 25 most traded stocks on the Bucharest bourse, was up 0.14%, while energy sector index BET-NG inched 0.03% higher.

Among the most traded stocks, Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) gained 0.6% and Banca Transilvania (TLV.

RO) traded up 0.3%, while Nuclearelectrica was down 0.2%, but on extremely low traded values.

After more than an hour of the session, share transfers barely reached 0.66 million lei (EUR0.15 million). (EUR1=RON4.4947)
