Franklin Templeton To Advise On Proprietatea Fund International Listing Before July

Franklin Templeton Investment Management, administrator of Romanian investment fund Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO), will make a recommendation by end June regarding the possible listing on an international market, the fund's manager Greg Konieczny said Wednesday.

Konieczny said an international listing would involve a secondary public offering and the main shareholder to make the offering would be the Romanian state.

"We are talking with several investment banks for a possible new listing.

We are contemplating the stock exchanges in London, Warsaw or Vienna," he added.

Fondul Proprietatea, set up in 2005 to compensate Romanians whose properties were seized during communism, was floated in Bucharest on January 25. The fund reported total assets worth 16.1 billion lei (EUR3.9 billion) end February.

Wednesday, the fund closed down 0.17% at RON0.579 a share. (EUR1=RON4.0767)
