Leu Closes Near 4.44 Vs Euro, After Quiet Session

The Romanian leu closed at 4.44/4.441 against the euro Monday, slightly higher on the day, in a quiet market.

The leu opened at 4.4455/4.4475 to the euro, similar to 4.445/4.4475 to the euro at Friday closing.

During the session, the leu stayed around the 4.44 level, touching the day’s high at 4.434 per euro.

The central bank set the leu’s exchange rate at 4.4404 per euro, 0.3% stronger on the day.

On the money market, overnight rates were stable at 2%-2.5% a year.
