Leu Stays In Ranges, Closes Around 4.44 Vs Euro

The Romanian leu stayed in a narrow range during the Tuesday session, and it closed near the opening levels of 4.44 per euro.

The leu traded at 4.439/4.442 to the euro by closing time in Bucharest, compared with 4.44/4.441 to the euro Monday.

Romania’s currency opened at 4.442 units and it traded between 4.439 and 4.445 units during the session.

The central bank set the official exchange rate at 4.443 per euro, from 4.4404 per euro in the previous day.

On the money market, overnight rates were down to 1.8%-2.3% a year, from 2%-2.5% a year on Monday.
