Leu Trades Around 4.46 Vs Euro, On Low Volumes

The Romanian leu traded around 4.46 against the euro in early session Monday, while the transferred volumes remained low.

The leu opened at 4.46 to the euro, from 4.458/4.4615 to the euro at Friday closing.

In other trading, the Hungarian forint was slightly down against the euro, while the Polish zloty was flat.

The Romanian central bank set Friday the leu’s exchange rate at 4.4597 per euro, about 0.1% stronger on the day.

On the money market Monday morning, overnight rates were down to 1.2%-1.7% a year from 1.6%-2.1% a year in the previous session.
