(P) JD Agro Cocora continues the series of ambitious expansion projects

JD Agro Cocora has experienced a progressive growth over the years, currently having in operation an area of 15,000 hectares in Ialomiţa, Constanţa and Buzǎu counties.
The process of acquiring agricultural land started in 2008, the company reaching an area of 5,000 hectares in 4 years. In the same year, the construction of JD Agro Cocora farm and silos began - an investment worth 5 million euros, in Cocora commune, Ialomita county.
With an investment of 2.5 million euros, JD Agro Amzacea farm was built in 2019 on an area of 3,500 square meters in Amzacea commune, Constanţa county.
The farm has high-performance equipment and state-of-the-art technology to achieve the estimated levels of efficiency.The local consolidation continued successively through the acquisition and lease of new land, thus reaching an operating area of 10,000 hectares in 2017.
“We are interested in buying agricultural land, taking over agricultural companies and renting agricultural land in areas of interest. Our goal is to manage more than 20,000 hectares by 2025 and at the same time continue to promote and practice sustainable agriculture, carrying out cereal cultivation activities in a responsible way, while protecting the soil and the environment for a sustainable future. ” said Mr. Hans Poulsen - CEO of JD Agro Cocora
In the last 3 years, JD Agro Cocora has acquired 4 agricultural companies from local farmers, also bringing important changes in the way of land exploitation, through the use of high-performance equipment and modern technologies (NoTill).
With an estimated turnover for 2021 of over 18 million euros and 58 employees, the development strategy adopted by the company in recent years, has allowed all business segments within the company to align in time and manage successfully the increasingly demanding requirements of the local market.
