Shares Open Undecided, Eyes On Oltchim

The Bucharest bourse opened Tuesday with an oscillating tendency, on moderate trading values, while the bulk of activity was targeting chemical company Oltchim (OLT.RO) and the five regional investment funds, or SIFs.

At around 10:36 local time (GMT0736), the Bucharest Stock Exchange's composite index BET-C was down 0.2%, while 10-share blue-chip tracker BET was losing 0.22%.

BET-FI, the index tracking investment fund Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) and the SIFs, was rising 0.79%.

Wider blue-chip tracker BET-XT was up 0.15%, while energy companies tracker BET-NG was inching down 0.03%.

Trades unfolded on the Bucharest Stock Exchange by 10:40 local time amounted to 2.6 million lei (EUR630,104), close to the value seen at this time in the previous session.

Popular stock early Tuesday included Oltchim (OLT.RO), the Proprietatea fund, SIF Oltenia (SIF5.RO), SIF Transilvania (SIF3.RO) and SIF Moldova (SIF2.RO). (EUR1=RON4.1263)
