The Bucharest bourse opened Friday slightly in the green, as the market was almost perfectly still within the first hour of trading, due to the upcoming Easter celebration.

The Bucharest bourse opened Friday slightly in the green, as the market was almost perfectly still within the first hour of trading, due to the upcoming Easter celebration.

At around GMT0740, the Bucharest Stock Exchange's composite index BET-C was up 0.11%, while the 10-share blue-chip tracker BET was rising 0.18%.

BET-FI, the index tracking investment fund Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO) and the five regional investment funds, or SIFs, was down a mere 0.02%.

Wider blue-chip tracker BET-XT was up 0.1%, while energy companies index BET-NG inched down 0.04%.

Trades unfolded by GMT0742 amounted to just 317,632 lei (some EUR77,650).

Popular stock early Friday included lender Banca Transilvania (TLV.RO), measuring device maker Contor Group (CGC.RO), the Proprietatea fund, lender BRD-Groupe Societe Generale (BRD.RO) and SIF Transilvania (SIF3.RO). (EUR1=RON4.0906)
