Shares Up In Early Trade, BET-FI Remains In Red Territory

Shares traded on the Bucharest bourse opened Tuesday with a slight increase, while BET-FI, the index tracking the regional investment funds SIFs, was held back by the decline of investment fund Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO).

Shares traded on the Bucharest bourse opened Tuesday with a slight increase, while BET-FI, the index tracking the regional investment funds SIFs, was held back by the decline of investment fund Fondul Proprietatea (FP.RO).

At around GMT0742, the Bucharest Stock Exchange's composite index BET-C was up 0.18% on the day, while the 10-share blue-chip tracker BET was up 0.1%.

BET-FI, the index tracking the Proprietatea fund and the SIFs, was down 0.17%.

Wider blue-chip tracker BET-XT, which also includes the SIFs, was up a mere 0.09%, while energy companies index BET-NG was rising 0.59% on the day.

Trades unfolded on the Bucharest Stock Exchange by GMT0744 amounted to 5.45 million lei (EUR1=RON4.0869).

Popular stock early Tuesday included the Proprietatea fund, SIF Oltenia (SIF5.RO), SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1.RO), aluminum maker Alumil (ALU.RO) and lender BRD-Groupe Societe Generale (BRD.RO).
