The US dollar has gained 22% in the past year and overshot the 4 lei-mark on Wednesday for the first time ever, bringing unexpected profits to those who kept their savings in dollars and to the companies exporting to the U.S. or to countries in Asia and the Middle East, which tie their transactions to the dollar.
