Harley-Davidson Romania expects to sell 55-60 motorcycles on the local market this year, 10-15 units more than in 2010, sales manager Marcel Chiva said Friday.

Chiva said the company sold 45 motorcycles last year, 20% more than in 2009, while the market shrunk by 60%.

He estimates the market will grow by 10% this year, as banks begin to grant loans for motorcycle purchases.

The most expensive model in the company's showroom costs EUR32,000, without VAT, and the cheapest - EUR7,400.

Harley-Davidson Romania is part of Automotive Trading Service, a company owned by former prime minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu.
